Patience, Grasshopper

It’s that time of year again, the day of the locust. These tiny little baby grasshoppers are amazing. For perspective, that’s a dead bee on the left. Completely covered is a baby Agave plant in a 4” diameter pot.(As usual, click photo to enlarge, click again for enlarger-est.)

It's definitely cool-looking when you put the picture on the enlarger-est setting!

Yeah, unfortunately I couldn’t get any closer or they would start jumping away.

Those are some green creatures. Oh, and yeap, stopping for riders sure breaks up the mind flow of the ride.

Hey MrDG, yeah, I should probably take more of David Carradine’s patient grasshopper advice when encountering those other riders on the trail. It’s not very Zen of me but I just want to spin on endless trails all alone for eternity. Is that too much to ask for a trailhead 10 miles from downtown LA? Yes, of course, and yet, surprisingly, no, at the same time.
