I’m really liking the toe-strap as rain cape attacher. Great for longer rides that may end up chilly. It’s quite secure – you could carry almost anything with it: a hat, a Thermos of soup, a bottle of wine (I might suggest two straps for wine, though…)
The toe-strap as pant leg holder is a little more for show but would be great for a group Tweed Ride or sometime when you feel like dappering up.
The rain shell is an excellent idea. I use one for spare tubular tires. It's extra classy if you can use an old leather strap with some nice patina on the buckle.
